You can choose either email or telephone communication; I think I paid less than $40 for a very extensive email reply to a long list of questions; I then chose to pay another fee for a follow up phone call with the same attorney.

The attorney who worked with me was extremely nice and thorough, very patient about answering all my questions particularly those re: threats of wage garnishment and property seizure. They will also help you with writing letters and representing yourself in court proceedings (I was sued by Citibank). Best piece of common sense advice: restrict communications to writing only (as much as you can) and mail all correspondence Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested.
